It helps that the drums sound perfect to begin with. I'd be interested to see some tips applied to a real drum kit recording.

Exactly - it's pretty shabby to see a company like Sonnox not being on the case with something so obvious? Makes one suspect a cheap "louder is better" trick, which we trust isn't the intention? - Sonnox, what say you?
