Apparently he thinks he's a grandpa instead of a dad. What is so important on his phone that he can't spend just 1 hours with his kids. Does he work 7 days a week? Does he do anything around the house ? OP is not the a-hole. Hubby definitely is.

If happy family is the theme, dad needs to adjust career choice to participate in family life more. OP Mom already stepped up and is earning online; dad could at the very least assist with the kids to let OP build that business up. 9-5 at a brick and mortar is lifestyle of the 1940’s…change it up dad…or OP could drop dad so he can live the bachelor life he so obviously desires.

There is just not enough info. How much does the husband work? How happy is he living like that? If he is also not happy, they should talk it out and change their lives. But if he is happy with it, then he is a bad husband and OP is not the a-hole.

Agree not enough info here. I worked swing shifts at a papermill. 13 day runs 1 day off ussually 12 or 16hr shifts. Eat sleep work.
