In Marvel's Transformers comics, the Dinobots ended up on the Savage Land, gaining alternate modes based on the animals they encountered, and were trapped in a tar pit until the 1980s.

My favorite location in the Marvel Universe. Very detailed look at the many races of the Savage Land. Bring on a part 2. We didn't even reach the Marvel Age of Heroes and their many trips to the Savage Land.
