I’m a fully qualified car mechanic. I received my City And Guilds certification in 1991. I worked with men every day, and thoroughly enjoyed the banter. I really appreciated their natural chivalry too, and took no offence to any of it. When I got married, I gave up on the job, as I wanted to be a wife, and mother. I was paid the same as my male colleagues, and I worked my butt off to do the job to the standard expected of me. If you can’t take a joke…. Have no business putting yourself in a situation where you may have to hear jokes.
