À l’occasion de la reprise à l’Opéra Bastille de trois grands ballets de Maurice Béjart, L’Oiseau de feu, Le Chant du compagnon errant et Boléro, l’historien de la danse et écrivain Jean Pierre Pastori dresse un portrait du chorégraphe. Il évoque les années de formation de Béjart, sa dimension intellectuelle, son langage néo-classique et la manière dont il a repensé le rôle du danseur masculin. Jean Pierre Pastori revient sur la genèse des trois ballets à l’affiche cette saison et souligne l’importance de ces œuvres dans la carrière de Béjart.

He looks back at Béjart's formative years, his intellectual dimension, his neo-classical language and the way he rethought the role of the male dancer.
