“Balakot Strike sent much-needed message…” EAM Jaishankar

Talking about how the Modi government changed its attitude against aggression and cross-border terrorism, Union External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on January 14 in Chennai said that Uri and Balakot strike sent a much-needed message on terrorism emanating from Pakistan and to aggressive cross-border skirmish with China.

'Our long suffering approach had however created the danger of normalising terrorism' . So true, remembering the days of 2006 - 2011. Terrorism was so frequent that people like me living in Mumbai used to live in fear. After every attack there was jamming of mobile signals. You could not contact your parents and family who were commuting from work. And India was doing NOTHING in the name of diplomacy other than say that 'we condemn such attacks of cowardice'. Uri sent a clear message that there would be a reply in the form of action rather than words. For Balakot, if the funding countries of Pakistan had not stepped in then it would have turned into a war, the first one in history that India wanted to start.
