Damn Claire. This is some of the best acting I've ever seen. Sounds exactly like a fight I heard my neighbours having one night. He was Scottish and she was English/Irish too

Is it weird that I find this one of the best scenes in the whole show? Sam's acting is fantastic here.

God Sam does such a great job in this scene. You can see the changing thoughts of the character in his gradual changes in his facial expression. At 0:21 he is pissed around 0:27 - 0:29 he looks like he wants to tear her clothes off and have her even though she is pissed and giving him the business. By the end of the scene his is just beside himself not knowing what to do at the idea that she regrets marrying him and not wanting to be married to him.

She has the most acerbic tongue and says the most painful things. I winced when she said that Jamie only saw her as something to warm his bed. That is so clearly not true. All of his actions have screamed that he cares deeply for her.

He walked her back to Castle Leoch, putting himself in danger to protect her. He slept outside of her door to protect her from unwanted drunken visitors. He helped her save the boy who was nailed to a post by his ear, etc. He is a class act.

I have only seen bits of this show because my parents watch this, so I don't know for sure what they are fighting about, But I LOVE how fearless Claire is towards Jamie, she isn't afraid of him, and she doesn't take orders from him even though she knows that's how it was back then. She's a woman that's independent and strong and isn't afraid to tell people NO, especially towards Jamie, I love that about her.

I’m leaning toward Jaime in this fight but I think they’re both a little wrong. Claire SHOULD NOT have hit him. That’s not okay BUT everyone needs to understand that Claire did not disobey Jaime because she was having an “I’m a strong, independent woman” moment. She saw the stones and made a run for it. Keep in mind that in this episode she is still trying to find a way back to 1945. Let’s not pretend, if you were thrown into another era and you saw a chance to get back home, you wouldn’t disobey Jaime and run for the stones too. It was just rotten luck that she ran into British soldiers. And Jaime is wrong in saying that she put herself in danger just to get back at him. I mean, he obviously doesn’t know why she disobeyed but as smart as Claire is, I expected her to come up with something better than accusing Jaime of treating her as property. Especially after he just risked everything and everyone to save her. The way he speaks to her in this scene does sound like she’s his property but I think he’s only meaning to say that if she had listened to him then none of this would have happened. Not “listen because I’m the boss of you.” Like, I said, I’m leaning toward Jaime for this one but give Claire a break. She doesn’t find out that she wreaked so much havoc until Jaime explains it to her later in the episode and when she does, she seems genuinely sorry about her actions once she realizes the magnitude of them. You all can argue about whether Jaime should of hit her back or how Claire is stupid and selfish but all it boils down to for me is an attempt for them to educate one another. Claire is trying to teach him that’s it’s okay for her to have a mind of her own and Jaime is trying to teach her that when he commands her, it’s for her safety, and it is imperative that she listens even if she doesn’t like it. All this fight is are good intentions cloaked in misplaced and hurtful words on both sides. Thanks for coming to my TedTalk ✌🏾

I had to have my husband listen to the “I ordered you to stay put!” line ~ Because he didn’t get the reference when I bellowed it at our Brittany pups! He was thinking I was mad saying it with a thick brogue ~ not my NW, Seattle screech. 😂😂😂 This line is now famous!

How is this considered an "extended scene"?? It's the exact same as it was in the actual episode, word for word.

I love 1945 Claire spewing 1945 feelings in 1743 confines. It only got better after this. Best episode.
