Common mistakes of scoop in Treflips / Shove-its. Analysis on the lightness of tricks.

You can view 3D models from here:

Especially for those who are learning their Treflips or shove-it’s, it’s important to understand why steezy Treflips are possible.

Being able to steezy Treflip can be translated as “being able to time it right.” In this video, we study h ow proper timing makes it easier to flip our boards.

Please take a moment and try to study this in detail.
I'm trying to eliminate subjectivity from my explanation as much as possible by referring to scientific and physics theories. Please use my 3D models to solve your "why."

Traditionally, skateboarding how-to videos have always been subjective and the majority of explanations are based on speakers' experiences.
To avoid relying on my personal experiences, please fully utilize the 3D models.

All skaters have different questions.
So that you can analyze skateboarding tricks in detail and solve your "whys," those 3D models are made fully interactive.

The 3D models feature these functions below:
- change camera angle
- adjust play speed
- change transparency
- display gridlines, etc.

Aside from that, I try to explain concepts of skateboarding tricks based on facts, calculations, scientific and physics theories. I may make mistakes so please leave a comment if you find anything.

Can we just take a minute and apperitiate how much effort he put in this video? This is amazing.

Finally, a skateboarding tutorial acknowledges that you have to jump BEFORE you start your tricks.

you have no IDEA how much this helped. I JUST LANDED MY FIRST TRE FLIP 30 mins after watching this video. HOLY SHIT ITS 1:30 AM AND IM GOING NUTS BRO

1 and a half years after standing on a board I finally land one. I sincerely thank you

This is by far, the best explanation of a 360 flip I've seen. It shows practicing but also the mechanics involved. Awesome,

I never heard to concept of jumping BEFORE you start your trick. Even without trying it, it already makes way more for almost any trick. Thanks for visualizing it this well. Great stuff!!

Brilliant video! There's many factors involved including posture of the hips and shoulders, and the pressure points on the board and the band of tension between them. Using blender to illustrate this is very helpful.

Amazing man. You have helped a 35 year old skater do things he never has. Thank you again

Man this video was absolutely amazing!! Like really so good! Scooping when your momentum's going up is such a solid recommendation. The only part I would disagree with is the pause at the bottom, this is because something that contributes a lot to the power we can generate in a vertical jump/popping a trick are the elastic structures in and around your muscles and joints. They essentially work like an elastic band that's pulled back and released - building on top of the force you could create with your muscles alone - this process is known as the 'stretch shortening cycle' (SSC). The more you pause, the more the stored energy in the SSC is dissipated as heat. Instead, I would recommend developing the SSC and your ability to create power over pausing at the bottom (there are exercises on my channel to do this). Anyway, thanks for the vid! You gained a subscriber!

another gem as usual. what do you think about making some content on head/shoulder/vision positioning on 180 body tricks?

Just found your channel. I’m in my third year studying engineering at school and feel like I’ve been waiting for your channel all my life. I love these types of breakdowns for tricks.

Praise the algorithm!!! Great info and breakdown!! It really helps put it all into perspective when you start thinking about the physics involved. Thanks for the great video!! Science!!!! 🤘🤙

Wow you just showed up in my recommended, but this is a really fascinating channel. Sometimes I really feel like a physicist when I'm trying to understand tricks and these videos provide a nice breakdown of the physics. Do you think you could do one focusing on the heelflip flick? I feel like a lot people, myself included struggle with flicking heels.

you have earned yourself a new subscriber friend. from this very simple analysis of the weight distribution I have literally somehow managed to unlock nollie 3shuvs and my ollies and kickflips have never popped so high or felt so natural. wow, I am flabbergasted bro!

Great video and channel! I'm mechanical engineer and this physics analysis of the tricks motion really made me understand my skateboard tricks so much better. Cannot wait for other videos. Cheers from Brazil!

Thank you for being the only person that actually goes in depth on the science of a trick… this video is great

It's been a long time since I've seen a skate trick tip that's made me realize something I've never thought about and say "of course!" I can't wait to try this

Really awesome perspective, I bet this will help a lot of people that don't learn the conventional way. Completely explains why I can get the rotation so easily with one foot off the board, but don't get anywhere close when I'm riding on it

Love the 3D models and detailed break down! Would love to see more sciencey skate content like this.

Been skating for 15 years and this is one of the most helpful videos I've ever seen and explains well enough that I may finally be able to get them down this year! Thank you
