This isn’t really related to this video specifically, but I found your channel when I was first researching parrots almost 5 years ago now. I’ve owned birds for about 3 years at this point, and have also somehow found my way into dog training?
But every few months I like to refresh and see what new info is out there on bird care, and I decided to come back here and rewatch some of your videos. I noticed that a lot of the ways you described training sounded really familiar. I realized pretty quickly that it was a lot of stuff I’d been going over with my FF dog trainer and then I found your Instagram as well and it all just kinda clicked.
I know this is a long winded off topic comment. I guess I just wanted to say that you do a really amazing job of applying what would normally be considered dog training concepts to birds. (Especially stuff like consent for care)And as someone who works with both as well, I find it really cool!

A situation where you could safely use a leash extension is going to a batting cage and flying in there. I've found that batting cages on their own has too large of gaps and a green cheek could probably slip through if it tried. So setting up a training perch inside and doing recall in it with the harness and extra leash could work well given the fact that BOP can't get inside.

I'd love if you did a new video on training with the Aviator harness. I have one for my sun conure and my macaw but just having a really hard time sticking to the training since I don't seem to be making progress. They are both terrified to have it near them even when I try to put it on display as the instructions suggest.
