When you think about how its nearly 4000 years later and customer service is still just as bad, you have to laugh.

My wife is an assyriologist. The latest tablet she was translating is a school exercise: an anon from around 700 BC copying some standard texts, all on the same tablet. Imagine someone in 4700 AD discovers your school notebooks, and then spends several weeks trying to decipher, what the hell were you doin'.

Imagine being this guy bruh, he made one bad sale and now he’s immortalised in the modern age as the man who sells bad quality copper.

Ea nasir actually ran a clay tablet side business so he saved on the production with people bringing him complaints.

The Chad Ea Nasir selling impure copper and doesn't give shit about complaints VS the virgin naani who has to cope harder.

0:24 There's a fucking rifle strapped to the wall in the background. Didn't know mesopotamians were that advanced back then while the rest of the world was figuring out the best metal to make daggers out of.

This meme is one of my most favourite things ever. It shows that no matter how much we progress as a species, there are still things in which we can relate to with our forefathers.

Ea-nasir: bro you'll never stop me, I run this copper game
*Bronze Age collapse happens*
Ea-nasir: shit

0:23 Wow, Ea-Nasir's really taking full advantage of Hammurabi's 2nd Amendment by showcasing those two ancient Mesopotamian flintlock rifles on the wall like that.

"There's nothing wrong with my copper. You must have a skill issue or something."

Do we imply Ea-nāsir ever read those complaints? 😂

This was written when the Pyramids of Giza were still being built and Mount Saint Helens was just a steaming crack in the ground, and customer service is still just as bad today. This is perhaps the oldest customer review we have any surviving record of, and it (and its response) bears striking resemblance to the amazon and apartment reviews today.

you can't handle my best copper, Nani. It's too pure for you

When you realize that he's remembered more than 4000 years ago
"You are without doubt worst copper merchant i've ever heard of"

Ea-Nasir: But you have heard of me!

Addressing Ea-nasir, Nanni sends the following message: When he came, you said to me: “I will give Gimil-Sin (when he comes) a fine copper ingot.” Then you left, but you didn't do what you promised me. Before my messenger (Sit-Sin) you put ingots that were not good and said, “If you want to buy them, take them; If you don't want to take it, go!” You said. What do you take for such contempt for someone like me? I sent envoys gentlemen like ourselves to collect my purse with money (deposited with you) but by sending me back empty-handed several times and you despised this to me in enemy territory. Is there anyone among the merchants who trade with Telmun who treats me this way? Just disrespect my ambassador! Because of a (murmuring) silver mina I owe you, you are free to speak in such a way, on your behalf I gave 1, 080 pounds of copper to the palace, and Šumi-abum likewise gave us 1, 080 kilos of copper except what we wrote on a sealed tablet to be kept in the temple of Damascus. How did you treat me for this copper? You hid my purse from me in enemy territory; It's up to you now to fully restore (my money) to me. Note that (from now on) I will not accept any poor quality copper from you. I will individually pick and take the nuggets in my own garden and use my right of rejection against you because you have insulted me. - Leo Oppenheim, Letters from Mesopotamia

I'd like to see Ea-Nasir's reaction to all those memes on him.
