An evening with this guy is like his game design: you didn't really have a reason to go to Chinatown, Yu Suzuki just wanted to. That's why there are turtle races in his game. That's why you race forklifts. No reason. There is a zen beauty to that. My brain hates it, my soul finds it absolutely delicious.

I would buy a translated hardback release of Suzuki's notes when creating Shenmue, if only so I could get some sort of idea for how many games it's going to take to finish.

I am excited to finally get my copy kickstarter copy Shenmue 3 and play it. Yeh it won't be life changing and clunky but it looks to be so charming and needed in this day and age. That and I hope the story has closure and not another TBC but never ending.
