I immediately thought about you when I tried that soap. New ambitious artisan that we wish all the best.

Hi Chris, thank you very much for showcasing my soap. I am very glad you enjoyed the scent of Ribalta 😊 I would have also picked this one for you if I was Jason, as we all know you like your citrus soaps. You might also enjoy Gerês, even though it has a note or two that I know you don’t care for, such as patchouli, but they don’t take centre stage. Price is always a difficult subject to address, Besides factoring in shipping across the ocean, as you have said, we need to factor in the conversion rate from euros to dollars. It’s hard to get them over to you guys at a lower price point. Anyway, hope you have a fantastic day! Tiago

At this point in my senior life, nothing north of $5 an ounce is good enough to change my mind. I do enjoy seeing you presenting all products with your sincere impression.

Ribalta sounds great. Glad you enjoyed it. The ERA is an interesting razor. I would like to see Blackland make more affordable Ti razors with less machining using that process. I still believe that is where they could shine and really showcase the innovation.

Morning Chris. Blackland is selling a ton of these razors. I own two of their razors, the Dart, no longer in production and the Vector Ti. I love the Vector and put it in my top five razors.
Glad the family is doing better. God bless.

oh yes that razor is definitely a great bit of kit and to be fair it’s not mega bucks . meh sometimes it’s nice to treat yourself to a nice soap but like you say now days with the excellent value you can get on soaps that are very good it’s hard to pay through the nose for a premium offering. hope you have a great monday my friend

Hi Chris, The Blackland Era is a very good razor. I really like razors with different plates (like the Era, the Karve CB, and the Rockwell 6S) because they allow you to try slightly different shaves to find your own individual preference for your level of beard growth. The soap sounds good too. And it looks like your wrist is slowly healing, it will get there, it just takes time.

This is one of my favorite razors along with the Rockwell 6c/s and the Karve Christopher Bradley. You cannot go wrong with the ERA, but it is a very mild shaver so you just have to find the right plate.

I definitely hope to see a more efficient plate for this. YMMV is always the case but I find I have similar preference in razor to yours so I use these videos as a guide. Just picked up Karve OC-F and it is the best I have by far

Very good! I've been enjoying the L5 OC Era and I do like the look. If they come out with some more plates with more efficiency and a little more blade-feel, I'm sure I'd get one. There's a lot of soap and brush makers, it really boggles the mind. I was thinking about doing some brushes, but I don't know If that would be a good idea with so many makers already. The soap does sound nice, but like you I'm getting picky with prices being high. There's a few that I'm definitely going to try a sample before I make the jump.

Hello CDB! Been watching your videos for a little bit now. I had a couple of questions regarding your technique if that's ok.
1. When applying the lather to your face, is there any particular reason you are using a gentler "painting" style motion vs. a more aggressive/exfoliating motion?
2. Any particular reason behind misting the face vs. rinsing the face prior to lather application?
Curious to hear your thoughts, thanks!

I've grown to really like the Era OC lvl 5
. I'd still like to try the SB lvl 5, just to see if If I find it smoother while providing similar performance.

Today's shave: Leaf Thorn, HC&C scentless soap with HC&C Bad**s scenting oil, and M&M Claddagh splash.

I like the Bad**s scenting oil, I find it similar to Razorock XXX, but more citrus-y (always a plus in my book).
Have a good one.

I like the looks and concept of the Era, but I’m concerned on the medium to mild efficiency I’ve been hearing. I don’t know that I would reach for it much, but I’d definitely start with the 5 plate.
