I bought nearly that same PC with a 9700k & in it when it came out. It was ~$2000 at the time just as the Rona was taking off. It was technically an r9. I'm still rocking that CPU in a completely new computer now because it overclocks like a beast. That's a whole lot of PC for $400. Similarly specced r9 and r10 machines are going for $600+ on ebay normally.

Can confirm that deal hunting will get you some crazy stuff. Won bids for a Thermaltake Toughpower GF A3 1200W for like 96 bucks and a R5 7600x for 180 bucks. Shipping tax included for both orders.

I copped an r12 with a Titan X, i7 11th gen, 64gb ram, m.2 1tb for $575 back in 2022. Wasn’t sure why it was so cheap, but runs so smooth till this day, I use pro tools and play some games on it too. Thing is a tank and has been through two moves with me already with no damage

great deal, I would definitely add a second stick of RAM just because... 3700X is still a decent 8-core/16-thread CPU, clearly a good match with the 2080 super. And that power supply!!

I saw this deal yesterday and almost bought one. Glad I get to see it made it to your channel. Wish I had your budget to order pcs all the time, then again you guys resell them right?

Great find! I have built recent and comparable Gaming PCs that provide similar performance, and was approx. $450 for parts (all new). So, at $398, really good deal IMHO.

Just to answer some questions in the video, I bought a Alienware aurora r7 a few years ago, I don’t recall what gpu it had come with, but it did have a modular 850w power supply, (still have in my build to this day), a i5-8400, ended up getting a 1080 ti I ran for quite some time, ended up swapping cases, the motherboard is definitely proprietary. I tried to run it in my new build, ended up needing a whole new mother board, & I upgraded cpu aswell. I’m now running 3070 ti / i5-12400f, still same 850w power supply, but it was a solid starting build to get into pcs. I paid $200 for it.

I'm thankful to my parents since they gave me a lesson when I was young. I always wanted one of these alienware but it was so expensive. My parents gave me half of how much the desktop was worth and I was still able to buy a more decent performing system than the one I wanted. 😅

6:47 I would guess the proprietary part is likely the front panel connection. Dell loves to do that

PLEASE do an upgrade video, would be super entertaining and interesting to see what this can do maxed out

I’ve been seeing comments about first PCs, so thought I’d share :3
Mine had a Ryzen 5700X, RX6600XT, and 48GB DDR4.
Nowadays I have a Ryzen 7600X, RX7800XT, and 32GB DDR5, it’s been a hell of a glow up, especially for a VR rig

I just got this pc model last week, pretty much same specs, but it has no liquid cooling. Also I found a series of videos from Gamer Heaven where he does cooling mods to this pc (Applies for R9-R12). So, I guess it will be on me to do the upgrades and I am excited to enjoy my first gaming desktop pc after just playing on laptops.

in June of 22 my old system was getting too long in the tooth and I snagged a new Aurora R10 for just under $2g. This thing kicks ass with a Ryzen 7 5800x and a 3080. I hear a lot of hate about Alienware and a lot of YouTube reviewers detest them just because they hate Dell. I play every game with Ultra settings and it's been a good system. right around 15800 in Time Spy. What helped was nuking & paving the SSD and reinstalling win11 from a clean image and getting rid of the Dell bloatware though. The RGB is a steady blue now instead of being customizable. Oh well

Alienware is not bad. Just needs one of 2 things: a big hole cut so air can get in and cool it. Or: a new case so the parts can breathe.
