One thing Rush could do so flawlessly is play in an odd time signature and just make it flow like wine!

Neil was the lyricist, Geddy and Alex primarily worked together on the music composition. The way Geddy describes it in his book, Neil added the drums after Geddy and Alex did the music. Neil was a G.O.A.T
Lyricist, but lets not short change Alex and Geddys role in the creation of the music we love

The Rush fan base is far different than most rock/pop/metal fans. It’s truly different music. The lyrics are deep and intellectual. Rush fans are unique- find interviews of the fans.

Jay & Amber Neil wrote some of the most profound lyrics. I really want you to react to Natural Science. White Spider Rush song suggestions are great. Especially "Anthem." It's on the Fly by Night album Natural Science I recommend doing Live. It will blow your mind.

The commentary isn't choppy at all so it must mean the song recording you were listening - until it was paused in the middle - was playing for you two with extremely poor quality. Glad to see that you liked what you heard in spite of this.

Rush Back Story:

The Drummer Neil Pert is highly intelligent - I mean genius levels. He may be the most skilled percussionist in all of music as well.

Neil IS the song writer. He also had a fear of flying and very shy- I mean debilitating level of shyness where you will notice he is missing in many photos..
He rode a motorcycle to many of their venues.

I love this song and the entire "Power Windows" album! About them supposedly being younger here, though, this was Rush in '85, eleven years after their first album, and long after they had already become a hugely popular band. You have *definitely* seen them younger than they are here. They may *look* younger here, because their hair is shorter, but this is actually an older, mature Rush in their 30s.

I would like to nominate a song for Female Friday. You haven’t done the Eurythmics with Annie Lennox for quite awhile. The song with cool video you should do is “Would I Lie To You.” Great lyrics, great guitar, great backup singers, great horn section, cool story for women’s rights and fun song to dance to. I love this song. It’ll get your foot tapping and your buns squirming in your chair.
