Former Indian Minister of External Affairs, Salman Khurshid will address Georgetown University international relations students about the existing relationship between India, United States of America and China. He will speak from an Indian standpoint about the policy challenges faced to balance these two critical relationships. This discussion will give students a practical insight into the IR concepts of balancing and bandwagoning. In addition to this the speaker will highlight India’s current growing role as a maritime power to work with the United States to build a rules based order. He will also highlight some of the internal challenges to leaning more towards one side and the domestic politics of maintaining a balanced foreign policy.
