Looks like you're making a lot of progress. Haven't seen this type of enthusiasm in a long time. Can't wait to see more.

Hi Jeff. I'm not sure I've figured out what you're doing here seeing just this video so far so take this with that. Have you seen and do you understand "Algal Turf Scrubbers"? They tend to be much more adjustable than the typical aquarium bio filters. There are multiple ways to control the nitrate extraction via light, flow, or surface area.

Re: the grow boxes mounting to the wall. I like the french cleats. I use them for hanging bathroom mirrors, heavy pictures, shelves, tool racks, etc. Probably couldn’t easily pull the middle box out though. Cheerio

Just brain storming here . i'm a fish keeper for years now . took me years to get a balance filter system with all the correct bio media to convert all the nitrogen cycle. i found iron help to boost the process . Great job as always keep moving forward .

Nutrients & filtration challenge: keep it simple - add a variable bypass valve, and/or a parallel low flowrate pump to achieve the same end. Just another idea to consider. As with everything else there is a balance to be found. Depending on the size /type of your filter maybe 'hobble' it by removing some of the media & giving less environment/habitat for the microbes to live&work in.

Hope it helps, keep up the good works buddy.

Bless you & yours.

R.

I would recommend not relying on songle relays for anything critical like misting, they are not the most reliable. I had one pack up after a few minutes, it literally fell apart internally.

Stay healthy, Jeff. The smoke here in the gorge is pretty bad. Otherwise, excited to see the progress!

Just a heads up I’ve had a lot of problems out of those blue splice connectors. They’re a nightmare to troubleshoot. I’m an elevator mechanic so I deal with this stuff daily. I won’t use them. Love your content.

Jeff. You have me worried. I haven't seen any activity here or on FB for a while.

As always awesome to see this coming together! Well done. If you need help with filtration contact me. Would love to help. You absolutely need to biologically filter your water for the animals, too much ammonia and they will die. Especially since your tanks are very small compared to grow area so you want a high density, high feeding hence strong filtration is needed. They key is to use aerobic filtration to convert ammonia to nitrite and nitrate only. Make sure there is no anaerobic filtration which "consumes" Nitrate. Learned this the hard way, used clay and ceramic type media which turns anaerobic in the center especially when older and removes some of your precious nitrates. Would be interested to find out more on what exact filtration you are using and planned feeding rates.

Scotch locks worst design ever, under no circumstances should be using this junk. Unfortunately they are quick but that’s the only benefit, durability and corrosion resistance are poor. So putting them into a moisture box is just designed for future failure
