Token ring network and how it works

Token Ring was developed in the early 1980's by IBM for a local area network or LAN. It was in direct competition with Ethernet. During the 80’s and the 90’s, there was a great debate about which technology should be used for a LAN or LANs.
We all know now Ethernet won. However, it is still interesting to know token ring and how it works to understand better why Ethernet has become the local area network standards.

Great way to send text data between master/multi slaves without using modbus or i2c

If all local serve buffering upload readied standby until receive the token generate by random number generator so even router can not even predict because token wrap all in package unlable except for token information only unwrap at host and client and main server connected base on token ring but use random number instead of sequential time line so it it much harder for hacker to interfer

Anyone know the diff. between token ring and ring, in terms of fault-tolerance? Is token ring simply a ring network with a token? Then why do they keep talking about it being "configured as star"? What's the advantage of that? This video does not show star config. of token ring. Thanks!
