2 Book Review | Literary folk horror | Pine & Starve Acre ☠️🖤📚

Not strictly a “real category “ but my interpretation of literary folk horror 😀

Hares are trouble in folklore.
Familiars of witches sent to spy. Or sometimes the witch transforms herself into a hare to steal milk. (Cows' or mother's milk) I haven't read Pine but if you've read Starve Acre there is a scene that last bit of folklore applies.
Rabbits are chill in comparison.

starve acre was one of my first 5 star books this year. the scariness really crept up on me. it is such a page turner & i wish more people were talking about it!!!!

find it sad how people have to put "trigger" warnings so not to upset the sensitive Generation - rolls eyes. I know its common practice now but its so irritating. A Folk Horror style book most people would get a very good idea of what the subject matter the book has. My god Watership Down novel will be a 30min trigger warning even before the book review even starts hahaha
I got both these books for Christmas. lol
