Virtual production needs often involve cars driving and multiple recorded elements all coming together in one shot.
This video goes over how to use a drivable vehicle in Unreal Engine 5.1 to make recording in Take Recorder. It also shows how to combine previous takes into one level sequence and use that to create more complex shots where the performances layer on top of the previous work.
It also goes through Take Recorder workflow and how to replace assets after they are recorded.

Great video Tony. Well done explaining all of the steps. I wish it was a simpler process.
My guess is that all those steps can be simplified by creating an Editor Widget?

I am so glad you cover the TakeRecording present. As I was watching your video I was wondering if there was a preset 👍🏼.

Btw there is a project setting for the default take recording pending take so you can make that very long as default and so you don’t have to always extended.

i have been tryin to record the glass shattering from the cars since the release of the matrix demo. Do you know how thats possible? They did it in the game demo.

I have an issue that when I’m driving the car after it reaches a certain point on map it disappears. Any solution for that?

Almost finished my short cinematic. I have attached chaos vehicles to camera rails to control the movement precisely - however, this does not allow wheels to spin or police lights to shine or collisions/deformation to occur. Can you bring in some of these controls into Sequencer? Can I add wheel spin, body roll, deformation on a keyframe basis?

Hi Tony, when I use take recorder for first time it work perfectly but i delate take and restart the engine now take recorder dosen't recorder any transform or any thing when I hit record button nothing is happen, Could you know what is the issue is there anything in settings.

I want you to help me.
I put a character in a car with City sample of Unreal Engine 5.1 and record it with takerecorder.
When I started recording and was driving for a few seconds, the car suddenly got stuck in the road, making it impossible to drive and the take recorder stopped. (Every time, after a few seconds of driving, the car is buried in the road and the take recorder stops working.)

In the same way, I recorded a character driving a car with a take recorder, but when I played it back with a sequencer after recording and confirmed it, the situation was different from the recorded situation. I'm having trouble repeating teleportation in various places.

Tony, any reason why the subsequence car track in the sequencer disappear from the viewport as soon as I press play, When I want to record an additional car?? thank you for your help...

Hey tony I know this is an old video for you, but I have been following along but I'm stuck, after I covert the vehicle back to spawnnable, I go to change the asset to just the play back, and I don't have that option.. I just have the paw option, not the payback, why?

Hi, can you tell me how to remove the menu on the left corner? It says Menu, flight.... It appears all the time when I render. I want to make a cinematic without it.

Hi Tony I have an issue with a chaos vehicle asset from the marketplace. I basically want to use the take recorder to record an animation. The problem is when I render only the wheels and steering wheels are visible. No car body or wheels. I have turned off simulate physics from a previous recommendation. Been puzzled by this. Any clues will be much appreciated. 😊

So you can use any car model with the city sample skeletons? Sorry still new trying to implement some vehicles into my game. Do you do work for hire?

I cant render it in my leve sequence. Can't do playback Blueprints. Tuto is ok but, what happened with the render part?

for supported versions it only shows 5.0 and I can't import it to my 5.1 project, is there a way to import it without breaking everything?
