Liver Cancer | Thelma's Story

Eight months after undergoing a successful surgery for colon cancer, Delaware resident Thelma Klase, was diagnosed with a large cancerous tumor in her liver, thought to be metastatic colon cancer. After an initial attempt at surgery failed and months of chemotherapy targeting her presumed colon cancer, Thelma and her family sought a second opinion from Matthew Weiss, a liver surgeon and surgical director of the Johns Hopkins Liver and Pancreatic Cancer Multidisciplinary Clinics. Dr. Weiss reassured his new patient that another approach offered good odds for success. He used a portal vein embolization procedure to grow the portion of her liver that was to remain. Then he removed the tumor, which turned out not to be metastatic colon cancer, but a completely different liver cancer. The surgery was successful, allowing Thelma a new lease on life.

I appreciate that Johns Hopkins took the time to find out that Thelma's liver cancer was not from prior cancer.
And the fact that her doctors did not use staples on her skin. There are still wonderful doctors in healthcare. ♥️

This reminds me of my Popa he was diagnosed with terminal cancer and his lung was basically fully black. Once we got the horrible news my Popa gave up and let himself die. The doctor said that he only had a couple of months to live. 3 or 5 months passed by and my Mum got a phone call at about 8:30. It was my Nana telling her that my Popa had passed away. by the way, we were outside at the time. My Mum told m the news and I instantly started bursting into tears. My Dad pulls up the driveway at the right time. (He was at work) He got out of the car and told my Mum to stop because he thought that she was teasing me and my Mum told him that my Popa passed away. I don't want to get into any more detail because it is pretty personal but thank you for taking the time to read this comment.

My grandpa died a couple years ago before I was born. He was in the Marines, Vietnam war. After my mom was Married a few years later, he discovered he had liver cancer. He went to get treatment but wanted to live out his life. In the middle of the treatment/ surgery, the next day he passed away. This is a heartbreak in our family, because of all the family members that have cancer. ♥️

Anyway, if someone can read the medical documents and give us better information about her condition, please reply to help in some way. Anyway, I am fifteen years old. I ask God to wish my mother good health. Please pray for the health of all patients and my mother

The skin under my eyes near my nose is a bright yellow color ..even the whites of my eyes are yellow and irritated and itchy.. I'm a redhead so most of my face is red.. But the parts that should be white are a bright yellow and the pain in my abdominal region is only getting worse.. I have no idea which one it is. The liver or pancreas or gall bladder but it is in that region.. And if you have problems with one.. Usually the rest aren't far behind.... I definitely haven't been feeling myself the last few months.. I know my time on this planet is short.. And it coincides with the healthcare crumbling in my home town ..people are showing up in the emergency room with advanced cancers because they got tired of the usual run around and told they were fine when they were after having a heart attack or stroke.. It's a problem with leadership.. Computers have put people in a position that they don't know what there job is anymore the computer has the final say.. And if the computer says no then they don't question it... My health is severely deteriorating fast.. Issues that I could that I could have dealt with in my 20s are coming back to bite me in the ass.. My body can't take it anymore.. The last few months I just stopped talking about it to avoid ruining Xmas for my family
.i dropped the subject before the first of December and let the holiday season override the conversation towards my health even though it was apparent by the looks my mom was giving me.. Especially when they haven't seen me for a few months.. Last February when I ate a box of Kraft dinner and I had to lay down after I ate it because it felt like a blood sugar spike and nausea and dizziness.. And that was the beginning..I don't think it's going to be over as quickly as I thought.. It depends whether it's cirrhosis or cancer.. But I'm not sure which one it is.. But it ain't good
