I used to think that the calories you needed to burn was exactly what you ate, meaning through exercise I needed to burn 1500 calories because that's what I consumed. I didn't know that everyone has a calorie burning resting rate and that you burn calories by simply existing.

So if I eat 1600 calories a day on average, in order to lose a steady amount of weight, I need to know I burn about 1300 by basically just breathing. So, through exercise I need to burn about 400-500 calories or so in order to start losing weight consistently.
This changes if my muscle mass builds up as my resting burn rate increases (ladies don't be afraid of bulking up, lift weights) or if you cut back further on calories (No one should do under 1000 a day, you're not doing yourself any favors and for males, likely no less than 1400)

I was so frustrated when I used to think I had to burn 1500 calories through exercise. it felt totally impossible.

i wonder if there is a way to tell your body that you don't need to store extra fat and just poop out the excess.

Calories on food labels are marked as "kcal" in denmark (kilo calories).. But then again, we use metric system and grams for measurements.

I never get this calorie balance thing.
How the heck are we supposed to burn more calories than we take in daily?
An hour of cardio or HIIT workout on average will only burn 200-500 calories.
Who the fuck can burn 2000+ calories a day???

Seriously? The capitalization of the word 'calorie' determines its value? You North-American guys should take a hint from us Europeans, just use 'cal' or for the real, scientific value (the energy required to heat 1 gram of water by 1 degree) and 'kcal' for the 'food calorie', i.e. a thousand calories.

Eat clean, eat healthy, and eat often....and be active. Counting "calories" assumes all calories are the same, which is a dangerous misconception. This video completely missed the point!

Question: Is morning birds and night owls nature or nurture? I heard there was a study done on college-age people who were put in a camp without any electronics or artificial lights and they all fell into the middle zone after 3 days. The morning owls and night owls recorded before the study began also fell into the middle zone by measuring melatonin levels (or one of the chemicals responsible for sleep).

@vlogerhood
-Denies "calories in vs calories out".
-Claims that people in a study didn't gain weight because they started burning more calories.
-Destroys his own argument.
-Repeatedly deletes my comments on his thread.
