Great video, Canon. The first review of video capabilities that is actually helpful. Now all we really want is a download link to the RAW footage so we can see the quality for ourselves and how easy it is to manipulate the shadows / highlights.

this camera has changed my life. i've been searching for that perfect camera since I first shot film on the Canon XL1 and 16mm old film camera I had. Since then i've had no bias, I love all companies especially Canon and Panasonic. This camera is overpriced if you ask me but seriously, its without a doubt the best dslr video camera ever made. should be like $5000 for its value but I don't regret the high cost for this machine. I've owned a Canon XL1 among other 3 chip cameras, a 5D2, 5D3, C300, and Sony a7sii. Nothing has impressed me quite like this camera. I've only done 2 shoots with it so far but its GREATLY changed my approach to film making. and above all, it cannot be stated how good that DUAL PIXEL autofocus is. really. i would see it searching or it'd look blurry during the shoot and that had me worry, i am not pulling focus and i'm trusting my sight on a small monitor with a system I don't know yet.

99% of my footage was perfect in focus. game changer! completely! when you do the non face tracking auto focus too you can customize the pull speed with great precision, this alone is amazing, the rack pulls you can do alone with just yourself can be smooth, slow and buttery like a true pro cinema pull, and the way you can select things and easily use the action button to stop the auto focus system and then find a new subject and then frame and then turn it back on and constantly pull focus or keep in focus the thing you want and not let anything else distract it. I can see why they neutered the 5D4 with that shitty ass crop. It would be this camera and thus perfect and would be hard to sell this to anyone besides true pro sports action photogs, but considering most movies are shot on super35mm sensors that already 1.5 crop not having true full frame 4k at the 1.38 crop isn't so bad. although still a bit bothersome. but truly useable for any tv or movie application. and the colors. there is just some "unspeakable" aesthetic coming off this camera that gets me hard in my pantaloons.

Glad they finally put 4K (especially at 60fps) and 10-bit 4:2:2 in a camera that wasn't one of the EOS cinema line cameras. I am quite impressed by this. This is the first time a Canon DSLR s video quality impressed me.

Awesome. Can't wait for Canon to bring these innovations like the long awaited Dual Pixel AF and 4K60p (4K in general really) to the lower-end DSLRs. I currently own an EOS 6D and it's great, but I'd like to upgrade it in the future, as soon as something exciting gets introduced by Canon in its category.

1dx is pretty close to the 70d with 4k and digic 6 instead of 1080p and digic 5. This is why I have been pushing the 70d over the 7d mkii. so close in fact it seems like the 70d may have been a test camera for the 1dx.
