Blacksmithing: Forging a Beer Bottle Opener

Показать описание
In this video I am sharing the process of hand forging of beer bottle openers, using side draft forge and stone coal. A piece of metal I used is a square steel bar 10x10mm, 12cm long.
Blacksmithing techniques: drawing, bending and twisting.
The tools: anvil, rounding hammer, blacksmith vise, bending fork, blacksmith tongs, file / rasp, wire brush, a bucket of water and a good bottle of beer =)
No need of a power hammer.

You will also see and hear some of Sun Hill Forge wild and not so wild friends - our everyday support team. And finally we will check, how the bottle opener works and whether the beer tastes nice.
Hope you will find out something new about blacksmithing and enjoy your visit at our small but friendly countryside workshop!

If you like the video please let us know by leaving a like - your kind support is always so motivating!

You are welcome to buy the bottle openers at our online shop:

Very nice project.
You filming and editing is great.
I appreciate you showing some zoomed out shots of your hammer swing.
That's important for the new folks who want to become smiths.
I also like that you are not covering up the natural sounds of the smithy and nature around you with annoying music.
The rhythmic sounds of hammer blows is wonderful.

Keep up the good work.

Just found your channel! I like your style of filming and silent ambiente. Also the "simple" projects you are showing are perfect :)
I saw the cranes, the trees and finaly the deer and knew: europe :)

Very cool. Was confused as to how it worked, but I like that you added the use of it at the end. Could something like this be made from a RR spike?

Hey, how much roadkill did you have to find to get enough to make that apron?
