video game jazz mix | 1 hour

I have been wanting to do this mix for what seems like years. I feel like video game soundtracks should legally be required to include jazz covers of their tracks. Until that time, feel free to chill out on this trip down jazz road, veer off into bossa territory, take a slight detour to blues, and then finish the road trip back in true jazz spirit.

This mix features a few covers, a handful of jazz arrangements by the original composers, and some tracks are just normal (bless these games for having jazz tracks).

There are plenty more tracks out there that have jazz vibes and I am dying to hear them all. Feel free to comment which tracks you'd like to hear if I did a part 2 of this!

The Duality of the Gamer:
Once upon a time, we stuffed our mouths with Doritos, whose dust covered all surfaces of our battle stations, and drank Mountain Dew, dubstep blasting in our ears while we owned noobs on MW2.
But that was the gamer of yesterday, the only constant in life is change. Today we sit bundled up in a blanket on a cold night, playing games as a brief escape from our work and social lives, exploring the artful medium, sipping a cup of tea and listening to jazz.

Sometimes life is bitter, good and bad times come and eventually go, but sometimes, life is good. I believe that we can enjoy the duality of life and therefore change, and persevere through thick and through thin, as gamers.
