Zero vector - Null vector

Zero vector or Null vectors means the vector having magnitude equal to zero(0). To write zero vector or null vector simply we write zero and then we give arrow over head. The x, y and z all component of the zero vector ( null vector) is zero. Graphically, zero vector or null vector represent just a point whose starting point and terminating point is same.

What was a very good job! Would have been even better if you talked about the additive identity and how the zero vector is unique for any chosen definition of ADDITION but if we change the definition of addition, the “zero vector” may be different even if everything else stays the same!!!!

The whole truth is that a zero vector is a vector whose head and tail coincide. When you hear people say that a zero vector has zero magnitude and an *undefined* direction, they really mean the magnitude is zero mathematically. it is measurable, and it is exactly zero, it is NOT undefined in the sense that it cannot be defined; it is ZERO i.e. it is undefined in the sense that if it had a non-zero magnitude it wouldn't be zero vector.

Saying a zero vector is a point is very misleading, even though it's technically true, there's a LOT more to it. It's not that simple at all.

Zero vector always has 2 components that make it zero vector and not discreet zero.

The math holds that only one vector can exist at any one point on a 2d plane though.

That's why zero vector is often denoted with a left to right arrow over a zero, which is not the same thing as discrete zero. Zero VECTOR has an undefined (I hate this language) direction, in other words; zero direction *mathematically* and a magnitude of zero in 2d space.

Discrete zero only has a magnitude, and can therefore be reduced to a one dimensional space without losing any meaning. That's not to say that you can't have a one dimensional vector, such as a number line, though. Interestingly, the product of any vector and zero is a zero vector.

But if you took a two dimensional vector with two distinct non zero x, y coordinates i.e. (6, 11) for the head and (3, 4) for the tail, you'd lose some of that information if you reduced it to one dimension.

You could get smart and say that the one dimensional space you're reducing to runs along the vector, but I'm talking about collapsing either the x or y axis of a 2d cartesian plane to get a one dimensional plane specifically.

The whole thing is a lot easier if you think of it like a person having a name and an age which are both descriptors, or attributes, or components of the person's identity. A vector always has a direction and a magnitude.

let me confirm one thing by one a car has moved in a straight line from the intial to the final again it comes back from the final to intial point back in a straight the specific direction is the vector remains zero and is called null or zero vector has specific direction in my view..and what's about you?
