This is timely! I am going to be there in July (I know, probs not a great time to go because of the heat) to get my temporary residency! I have a 5 hour layover in Mexico City though. UGH, but flying in from Ciudad Juarez, since I live literally 11 miles from the border. Airline is pretty inexpensive. thanks for the tips! I am staying for two weeks.

Thanks for your video! We are staying in a condo in Bucerias soon (first time in Mexico off resort). My GP just told me if I’m not in a resort to not eat anything uncooked or drink anything not bottled. I know he was just covering his butt, but I was feeling a little anxious about it all and that would put a big damper on the experience. Your video reassured me, obviously bottled water and common sense are needed but I feel more at ease about exploring the great restaurants of Bucerias!

In the Hotel Zone, a great resort or all inclusive feeling and looking place to stay that is NOT any of those things, is the Grand Venetian. It is not even a hotel. It is a set of three towers that have amazing views of Banderas Bay from your condo. LOVE staying there when me and my friends come to PV.

Thank you for this info. Have you made any videos for people who can’t stand blaring music all the time and actually want to just hear the surf? Or is this simply impossible in PV?!

You made a comment about only taking a small suitcase on the local busses. We're heading down tomorrow and taking a large suitcase full of stuff for local charities. It's part of the "Not Just Tourists" program. Does this mean we'll need to use Uber or a taxi. Our resort is a out a 45 minute drive north of Puerto Vallarta.

When we go, we usually stay at a resort. When we tip the cleaning lady; it’s usually 1 or 2 dollars In US $1.00 bills. Is that still acceptable or should we be giving them Mexican pesos? If so, how much?
