I loved all the schools I've attended . Although I've faced racism, I was more focused in my studies to let that bother me. My teachers were all well experienced and they helped me to develop a lot of social skills. They rarely used the 21st century active learning techniques which would have made my educational experience much more fun. I'm a teacher now, and I really care about my students' well being and mood all the time. (@^_^@)

Yes! Because nowadays company's are not looking for someone bowed as honors and elites some of them are looking for someone sharpened by experience and drive. And to stress tge fact that education is too expensive to experience.

Your skill set is a foundation and there is plenty of scope to improve all the productive parts of the skills in that set, it is not static. The same fundamental needs exist since began for humans eg food, housing, transportation. The skills to produce those things has improved tremendously with technology, the speed has increased dramatically.

People have always relied on their skills sets to live and those that improved on their skill sets constantly achieved even more success in both wealth and wisdom.

Learning general concepts does not help in the real world, it is something for the very wealthy to do.

Looking back at those years in university, I feel that so much time has been wasted on meeting the requirements of my major, of the department and the faculty, on getting good GPA. One could have spent this time on improving emotional intelligence, on improving the skills of connecting with people or simply taking good care of self. Furthermore, by reading dozens of books and writing a thesis, one is taking the risk of wasting time on learning and analyzing some outdated information. I learned most, if not all skills I need for my job after I freed myself from all those thesis and projects (i.e. graduated from university finally)
