HI Chris, this has been great work.. I however had a minor glitch, I keep getting the error as shown below. Not really sure why calling findAccount() was getting called with null id returned from account object even though the function is marked transactional.

Excellent! It would be nice if you can add spring data JPA. With that, you will not need to  annotate @PersistentContext.
