MSU presents 42nd Street

The Department of Theater and Dance and the John J. Cali School of Music present 42nd Street. Book by Michael Stewart & Mark Bramble; Music & Lyrics ty Harry Warren & Al Dubin; based on the novel by Bradford Ropes. This is a creditable performance in its own right - but to know it's not a professional production brings it from creditable, almost to stunning. Obviously, there was a lot of money available compared with the budgets of most amateur musicals, and this is a significant part of the impact of the show, but the talent and skills of the well-rehearsed cast are to the fore, and they're the essential ingredients leading to the success of the show. (From the YouTube experience aspect, it's a pity the budget didn't extend to one or two more cameras and more pro miking audio-wise, but I guess the money went to the important thing - the show itself.)
