I've never played League of Legends, and just watched my friends and others play it and just think, "well, it looks okay, but maybe it's not my type of game". It has always been a game i knew existed, and not known anything about. But seeing the gameplay now hits different after Arcane... it truly is a masterpiece. Well done.

I played league of Legends years ago. It was ok, but not my cup of tea. Arcane was amazing and it's crazy to think they made a show so good out of a simple game like this.

yes the game might not be for everyone, but the game is way less boring than it seems when you start to understand the mechanics and objectives of the game

The fans of LOL are an incidental part of those who enjoy Arcane. The show was successful as an adaptation because it really wasn't adapting much. There wasn't already a deep well of story that unreasonable fans would insist the writers cling to. It's not, in fact, an adaptation at all. Arcane is an original story that used LOL backdrop and characters that could have been interchanged with characters from another distopian fiction or with entirely original characters. I suspect the use of LOL was intended to bring attention to the game, but I'm not sure how well that will work out. The person who enjoys immersive storytelling will far more often than not fail to also be a fan of shallow battle arena game. I guess we'll see. Great show nevertheless, but there is little to be learned from LOL/Arcane in adapting rich fan loved stories between media.

Same thoughts. My hunch is the show is promo for the game. It so happens the game isn't that impressive I guess. I'll give it a shot anyway but definitely not blown away so far by the looks of it.

I played this game back in 2013 and now in 2022 I'm trying to see if there's a connection with the show. I don't remember much from playing back then but I do know the show is wayyyy better
