The Liberty Banjos, of Bridgeport CT, was a small company started in the early 1970s. They had a parts catalog and made decent instruments. The Backstep is a good, clawhammer or frailing banjo. It is a lightweight, full resonator banjo with simple tonering, and individual flanges and mahogany resonator. The mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard measures 1-1/8" at the nut and has a 26" scale. padded gigbag included. Price: $899
