We have been using this system in India for decades.

We use leftover slurry as a fertiliser.

For maximum results you can add fresh cow dung, 1 kg chickpea flour, and 1 kg jaggery then let the mixture release the methane and once the methane is extracted now you h
Have slurry left which is rich in biomass and microrganisms itself.

We have witnessed amazing results by using cowdung and cow pee and used different methods to make organic pesticides and fertilisers. The production was almost double in various soils, and various water types and various type of climates throughout India.

We recently bought a biogas digester for our home. There are a few things to keep in mind while using a methane digester. First that it needs enough supply of waste, which could mean inconsistent supply especially if you are a small family and might not produce enough gas if all of your meals are home cooked. The gas also needs to be used everyday, because you don't want too much gas to buildup causing too much pressure.
If you have a steady supply of lots of organic waste, then it could be enough to fuel all your cooking.

If you don't need that much fuel for cooking, can you use it for a water heater or to heat the home? Will it explode if not used, or does it have a pressure valve that vents if there is too much?

Really brilliant innovation! it's portable. I have seen the biomass digester in Bali at community small industry which producing tofu. Their digester is really big concrete structure underground. This innovation can be use for more than 1 household to keep the methane producing stable
