I've worked so hard while on different visas in vis USA, have not seen my mom for years. I've finally gotten my green card but did not book a trip to see my family. I never broke the law but I am too scared to travel even for 2 weeks. I built my life here now and cannot risk it. my lawyers also advised against it.

For visa holders, I get the no travel advice, since the CBP officer has the final say. But for GC holders,
please stop misleading people. If someone is inadmissible due to criminal convictions or other issues they will be detained, period. And it is predictable. It's not like CBP officers roll a dice to decide who to detain! Talk with an immigration attorney before travel and carefully evaluate your specific case, for most people you will be fine. Stop, stop, stop misleading people by giving examples of people who should be detained by the law, as a reference for why not to travel.
