Kevin Levin is why I loved Super Boy from Young Justice. It was the fact that he had the capacity to do bad but chose to be good as well. They both had a tough exterior that only broke when you gained their trust.

Writing wise : His character development is underrated and he's revealed as a circumstantial villain triggered by things he can't control. His vulnerability makes him convincing as a villain and compassionate as a hero. To me that's why he's a great character.
