Check out my new Main Channel with Daily Ranton Uploads! 🚀

Hello everyone. Its finally happening. I got Kung Fu Panda suggested too many times to count. I was hesitent at first since its not a movie that means that much to me personally. I watched it for the first time a few years back but it didnt really stick with me, so I decided to rewatch it last week, but this time I took notes and actually paid proper attention. Surprisingly, there isnt that much in regards to Kung Fu, but there's tons in regards of Chinese philosophy. I enjoyed breaking it down. I hope you do too.

To everyone's surprise, including his own, Po, an overweight, clumsy panda, is chosen as protector of the Valley of Peace. His suitability will soon be tested as the valley's arch-enemy is on his way.

Kung Fu Panda is probably one of my favorite animated movie trilogies ever. No one could have done it better than DreamWorks. Jack Black as Po is just nothing short of Awesome.

Personally, I find that Kung Fu Panda 2 is the best out of all 3. Has an emotional story and very good animation.

My favorite quote from the first movie "Yesterday is history, tomorrow's a mystery, right now is a gift, that's why it's called the present."

Youtube is so vast, I click a random video with a chinese monk in it and like 2 seconds into it I'm like "wait, that accent, that's a German brother"

Fun Fact: The animators took a six-hour kung fu class to get an idea of the movie's action.

The duality of Ranton, on the one hand making a very educational straight forward video about Kong fu panda. And on the other, his normal videos that remind me I have ADHD in the first 5 seconds of the video.

About the whole dragons being used sparingly thing: it actually is used sparingly in the movie. The only place that's filled with dragons is just the Jade temple. And even then it's only a few parts of the temple. Specifically the parts related to the DRAGON warrior or DRAGON scroll which of course would have a lot of dragon depictions. The rest of the movie has little to no dragons.

I think the point with Po’s style is that it is supposed to be unique. It is supposed to represent him. He uses his body to his advantage, the environment, and his opponents power against themselves. It’s derived from his fathers teaching that there is no secret ingredient. It is just you. Even shift tailored his teaching for Po in particular because he isn’t like every student he’s ever taught.

It's funny because Kung Fu Panda 2 precisely demystifies the image of Kung-Fu. So I imagine you're going to enjoy the second film in more than one aspect of the plot. On the other hand, the 3rd film embraces even more all the culture around Kung Fu and Chinese mythology.

I think a really cool aspect of this movie that wasn’t mentioned in the review is that the conflict between Oogway and Shifu is actually a debate between confucianism and daoism, in particular the peach tree scene. And it’s handled very well because neither one really wins out in the end

I wonder how many people stumble upon very cool, calm Rantoni videos like these and go through the normal videos just to either get very disturbed or very hooked. Another banger

Funny: also just wanna say ranton as much as I love your meme heavy stuff these sorts of videos are some of my favorites on youtube. Educational, introspective of your own experiences and connective to something so many people enjoy. You do a great job of connecting these portrayals to the real thing

Two lines I love - "There is now a level zero" ... "one does not wash one's pits in the pool of sacred tears"... best lines in movie history.

My favorite thing about Kung Fu Panda is that when I watch the first one, I have to watch the next two. The quality does not drop. I dunno if I would say it gets better, but the bar was already high to begin with. They just keep nailing it. I believe they were supposed to be making 2 more to complete Po's journey. I hope they make them just as good. I can't say this about many sequels, especially animated sequels. They are just all so good! Each with their own lessons for Po.

I love how he tries to dismiss the wushi finger hold, even though we know he was kicked out of the temple for using it on his former master.
