Very informative, but had to watch twice. First time I got distracted watching Nikki hit! So clean off both wings. 🔥

Great content and summed up nicely in the end! I think also weather conditions play their role, some strings are good for mild temperatures but not so good for the summer heat for example

Is it definitely the pigments that make the difference? I'm wondering if different colors and lines may be produced under different conditions (factories, places, etc) even if the 'recipes' are the same.

String in two beds is a huge quality improve...I usually string a soft poly like Red Devil on mains 2-3 kgs higher and more consistent poly on crosses wity lower tension...for me its the combo

Tested those recent Luxilon Eco Power because the idea behind them was really interesting to me. They are very good but the tension lasted only 4 hours...I'm disappointed.

Didn't know that the colour plays such an important role in the playability, thank you! Haven't tried any luxilon yet. So far my top strings are: Babolat RPM Blast, Solinco Revolution, Technifibre Red Code and Solinco Tour Bite.

Quick question regarding Nikki talking about faster tension loss when an inexperienced stringer strings the racquet... What do inexperienced stringers do (or not do) to cause the string to lose tension faster than if an experienced stringer strings the racquet?

Testing strings myself as a hobby, allow me to add the balls used make a big difference too. I try to be using the same balls.

Nikki's technique is looking pretty clean. He doesn't have a current UTR, but I'm curious to know what you guys think it would be. I think on some other videos it was mentioned he has hit with Novak when Novak is in town, so Nikki must be at a great level.

Did Nikki switch to the Ezone 98? If so customized?

I miss the discussion on much YT content stringing reviews. Tension. Every string has it sweet spot. 1kg can be huge difference for the feel.
Same raquets is a good point especially cause of string patterns and head size and much more.
Dial in the string tension is crucial. I can love the string at 26kg and dislike it a lot at 24kg and the opposite with another string.

Stiff polys for example can feel very lively at lower tension. I would restring 4 times and then decide if I like the string or not.
Start at 24kg then too low go to 26kg and maybe you settle at 25.5kg. And also dial in the maine and dial in the cross is like a hybrid setup in my opinion.
The charasteric change a lot. Maybe its more important to dial in the tension of that string then the string itself so it suits your play.

I go with x2 Yonex Vcore 97 310g 2021 and Babolat Blast 1.20mm at 26kg at maine and Luxilon 4G Soft 1.25mm at 26kg at crosses. Luxilon 4G Soft at 26kg is like a Blast at 24kg.
Babolat Blast is a super string in my opinion but dial in the maine tension and cross tension is crucial. When the maines with a stiff poly get good travel in the raquet cause off the crosses it makes some sweet spin.

And also the more strings you test you get a feel what the starting point should be for that string when you test it first time. But dialing it at right + - 1kg or even + - 0.5 kg thats probably an impossible task on first try.

And ofcourse tension maintenence, crucial part as you say!!
Thx for cool videos!!

I searched your videos and can't find any testing of the Ashaway strings. Would like your thoughts and opinions on the Ashway MonoGut ZX Pro (17 gauge). Listed as using a DuPont synthetic material that comes close to Natural Gut in "playability".

I dont believe the strings initially mentioned hold tension well. The polys seem to lose tension although ball pocketing is certainly better with poly. True abouit the color of the string- i noticed that with white velocity vs black velocity. I am a 4.5 using Babloat PD Plus normally with VS Touch in mains at 53.5 with Tevchnifibre TGCV at 53.5. I also have used a full bed of Velocity MLG at 54.5 in a Head Boom pro becuase it seems less stiff than the PD plus. Totally agree a good stringer on the best babolat string machine makes a HUGE difference

Hi tennisnerd, Which is the softer string out of Lynx variants, Hawk variants and Sonic Pro? And would a good hybrid be with one of those and velocity mlt cross? Cheers

Have you ever tried lux adrenaline? If so what were your thoughts??

Yeah it depends on the racquet, more flexible, more stiffer string needed.
I prefer rough strings. (Maybe 6 sided)
