Final announcements and the National Anthem from the end of the broadcast day on WABC-TV Channel 7. This aired in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 20, 1982, and was announced by staffer Tedd Lawrence. Dig the sweet synthesizer on the Star-Spangled Banner!

I remember watching sign off videos back in 2016. This rendition of the American National Anthem is actually one of the best ones so far. Love the USA from Bangladesh, wish to visit there. 🇺🇸🇧🇩

Grew up with this sign-off and glad somebody has preserved it. Still my favorite version of the SSB ever.

A very interesting version of the SSB, the way it's performed on Synth reflects also the progress & tech of the US

Thank you for saving this. A Paducha KY channel used to use this sign off in the early 80s, right after "My Old Kentucky Home." I lived in Ironton MO at the time and worked the vening shift at the local hospital. No cable back then. Paducha was one of the few stations we could pick up. Again, my profound thanks.

An interesting arrangement but a fantastic closedown sequence, in England all you had was a recording of the national anthem playing.

For a few years in the mid-'70's, the "Moog SSB" was also used in the NYC area by WOR-TV.

Wow, I am OLD. I remember how TV stations used to sign off. I think the NBC stations had the best sign off. But does this bring back memories.

I remember around this time they didn't use the color bars for awhile, they just shut the transmitter off for the night right after playing the SSB film.

It was made by or for the US Air Force..grew up near an airbase and the movie theatre on base played this before every movie.

I wondered why this got suggested to me initially.
Then the sign off theme played, and all was understood.

In the early to mid 80s, the Moog SSB was used on WYES TV 12 (PBS) New Orleans. It was also used on WKRG TV 5 (CBS) Mobile/Pensacola

This was 16 days after the release of Poltergeist. I bet everyone was getting freaked out already everytime the sign off would happen
