Welcome to the Salt Flats of Bolivia, officially known as Salar De Uyuni. As the title mentions, we were genuinely shocked by the salt flats. It's VERY rare that something you're looking forward to as the top-3 of your trip, turns out to be significantly better than you expected!
Our G Adventures tour was always going to the Salt Flats - part of the reason we booked that tour - but as an optional extra we got to do a 'first look tour of Salar De Uyuni', which was blind folded. This was an awesome way to see the Salt Flats for the first time and included transport, wine, snacks and some unbelievable photos! (genuinely, we couldn't have done better ourself and the night time shots were insane)
Over the next few days we explored more of the salt flats, local villages, token islands, flamingos, lagoons, hot springs and beyond. It was like driving in mars and the moon! We've made memories for life over these few days and can't stop smiling!
