Every West Pointer I've met has told me that ROTC was the right choice. Granted, I've only met four so far.

Yes I've seen it. ROTC class of 79. We had to hold off our graduation 1 week so that the West Pointers would always have time in grade over us.

In my experience West Pointers come in two types. They're either awesome or they suck balls. There was never one that was just average. I still can't believe they come from the same institution.

It is about leaderhship and we our fortunate our nation provides "different" paths: One of the best personnel I knew-enlisted at 22 with is degree (E4) and at 25 with a good three (3) years under his belt as 11B went to OCS and branched non-combat arms...outstanding leader..and always an infantryman.

I love the old joke "You can't spell lost without LT." Because you get to see the look on the NCO's faces when you respond with "You can't spell incompetent without NCO."

remember my grandfather's stories about the "ringbangers" and the few I met while in and I can't say much as I didn't interact with them much outside of work. But this reminds me of my grandfather's stories.

The real question is, Who gets lost

Are you mass produced factory grade officers actually trying to say that West Pointers haven't earned their special status?

I like how the West Point butterbar left his rifle in the shitter and had it returned to us by an LN. Good times that was.

That ring works.. But wait until it's -10 degrees at Ft. Riley, the heater in your Bradley stops working, you come to this tanker for heater parts, and this ROTC grad'll tell you, rub that F'ing ring and see how warm it keeps you.

Didn't the waiter say they didn't have diet coke? Either he though the ROTC's way of request was a pushover and lied to him, or he's give the Westpointer something else to drink.

Give the Academy up. I tried twice just like you did and didn't get accepted even though I got a nomination. You're better off doing something else.

I want to also be an Airman! should i go for the ROTC scholarship, try for the academy in 2 yrs or enlist and go through OCS? im asking you because im guessing by the ring you went to West Point. (yes i know West Point=Army, Air Force Academy= Air Force, just asking for some advice)

if you can answer this it would be of great help to me since my ALO (air liaison officer) really wont directly answer my question. So i tried to get into the USAFA c/o 2017, i didn't get a nomination from my congressman. My ALO told me 2 weeks ago that they cut down the cadet wing to 4000 form 4700 and says i should reapply for c/o 2019 since it will be even harder this year than last. but it will even out for the class of 2019. My dream is going to the Academy!!!
