Watching this again - weirdest thing is he doesn’t play a chord after he tunes up. He goes into that insane pick tapping thing. Who tunes up and plays THAT? You hit some chords!

At first I thought it had to be fake. Either it was a guy dressed up like Ace purposely fu**ing up or a deliberately bad track transposed over the video. Then I watched it again and was horrified to discover it was really Ace playing.

He's got an fascinating style to add some open strings to make it more interesting. Also playing some notes off the scale to spice it up. Ace said a while ago in an interview that he plays now better than he ever has. You can really hear it here if it's true! Classic Ace!

The cleanest playing was during tuning, and that was pretty sloppy.
The rest sounded like 12 year old me when I got my first electric in 83
