For the spring assemblage shown in the figure above, determine the displacement at node 2 and the forces in each spring element. Also determine the force F3.
Given: displacement at node 3 is equal to 1 inch in the positive direction of x, due to the force F3 and k1=k2=1200 lb/in.
Correction:
at 7:33 I said: "both belonging to point one"; this is wrong, I should have said: "both belonging to ELEMENT one"
