If you don't want your neighbor to seek protection then threatening them and assaulting other neighbors isn't the smartest thing to do.

As Finn, it feel very arrogant to hear Sweds to be accused by help they give for people. Sweds have always helped everyone, even to their own cost. Now Turkey is using this against them. Cheap bargain politics.

The beached submarine near Swedish naval base was an eye-opener back in Soviet times, but also a mouth watering experience since the sub in question was what NATO called a Whiskey-class boat, the incident became whiskey-on-the-rocks (whiskey with ice).

In war games involving the US navy, a very quiet conventionaly powered Swedish sub, came withing shooting distance of a US carrier, evading the protecting screen of destroyers and cruisers. That demonstrates the sophistication of the Swedes, they have one of the best defense industries in the world, all of that makes them powerful. Finland has the largest artilery in all of Europe, and, they have a reserve force of 900, 000 well trained reservists, and, a standing force of 280, 000, they also have a modern air arm, and, have just purchased a bunch of F-35's from the US. In short, it will be a major win for NATO, and, a real pain for Putin.

With the end neutrality, Sweden’s independent defense and aerospace industries could fully integrate with the rest of NATO permitting sales and subcontracting as full partners

It’s not that NATO sends invitations or campaign to join, but invading your neighbors and threatening the world with nuclear weapons isn’t the smartest thing to do it works counterproductive. NATO is a defense organization and not likely to start a conflict, let alone invade an other country.

Finland is also one of the leaders in countering hybrid warfare threats, thus why the European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats is based in Helsinki. As an example of this expertise, Finland won the Locked Shields 2022 cyber security exercise in April 2022, the world's largest and most complex international live-fire exercise.

Finland played a very dangerous game when Russia moved some mobile missile launchers to the Finnish border last week.
In retaliation, the Finns rounded up a dozen farmers on tractors and had them move up to the Russian border where they faced off the Russians.

You would think the Russian people, at some point, would have to think along the lines of, "If our country, government, economy, and way of life is so great compared to Western European Countries, why are all of these countries wanting to join NATO and the EU and not knocking on the Kremlin door to join us and ask for our protection?" The signs are so obvious that something is wrong when former Soviet Block and Warsaw Pact countries have even cut ties with Russia and have joined NATO and the EU. I just find it hard to believe that Russians are that naïve.

To show its commitment for peace, Russia must apply immediately like Sweden and Finland and join NATO.
A historic moment for peace in Europe.

HARSH THREATS toward the UK and Finland, The UK has 2 Trident subs with appx 249 thermonuclear warheads aimed at Russia on launch on launch status, also hitting in minutes. What makes those Russian leaders tick.>

Half-way through that, he said it all : Finland is too well equipped along its border for Russia to really want to try anything. So this whole issue is exaggerated by the Finns. Finland and Sweden do not really need to join NATO. And even if there was a real russian military threat, other defence models are possible. Marin is too young to be making decisions like this.
