Hello and welcome to Cloudforest Vibes! It's time again for another care collab video! This time the topic is Laelia dayana (Cattleya bilcahoi) and we are lucky to have Nina from Ninja Orchids and Matt from Mattbynature doing videos on the same plant. Should be interesting to see how the 3 of grow the same plant in our VERY different conditions. Thanks as always for tuning in and being a part of my channel! Please don't forget to check out the other videos and channels at the links below!

You have such a gorgeous plant. And I'm ashamed to admit I could not pick it out in the initial extremely impressive view. These mounts definitely put on a show. We've talked before about a grow tent - I'm really tempted haha...
Mine didn't get a dry rest - or much of a rest at all. I think the lack of blooms might be because it's still a bit young? Mine bloomed for the first time this year and it has amassed quite a few bulbs. Anyways, your plant looks great and for sure the coerulea is the way to go haha.

That would be wonderful to bloom… that’s my kind of color! Hopefully soon to see it! I have pumila. I know it needs winter rest but mine is not quite blooming size yet last year… thinking to give the rest this year.

I love mounted orchids! In my opinion, it is the most interesting and cool way to display them👍. But since I had to give ip my Terrarium, it has been a real struggle to keep them alive. Your videos motivate and inspire me to always find new ways to make it possible😁😁😁. Do you have a ghost orchid in your tent? I bet something like a Chiloschista would love your conditions😊(It doesn't have to be a Dendrophylax to be a ghost orchid in my opinion, just leafless)

Interesting video, have thought about trying this one. My summer day temps can get up to 82 at the highest. And upper 60s at night.

Cattleya bicalhoi, that's the name but I really so much prefer Laelia dayana!!! Yours is a happy orchid. I hope it blooms for you, it sure seems able to. Please tell me, do you own a pumila?

I think you probably didn't get blooms because it is just now blooming size. I'm not sure why they list it as needing a cool, dry winter rest to bloom, when it blooms from new growths produced in the spring and summer.
