I've never heard this song before. I'm 33 yrs old. I grew up in the Southern Appalachian region. Dated the same girl since high-school and we split up after 10 yrs together. I moved out west to Colorado for 5 yrs, but we stayed in touch often and I hoped, one day, we would be again. But she's now marrying another man and I don't think I've ever heard a song that describes the caurterized feeling I have embracing my heart, like this. I used to always listen to this song when I was sad when I had depression. After I recovered, I never listened to it again because of the memories it brought back. But it's been a year, and those memories aren't scary anymore. What happened changed me, and I don't want to deny that. Those memories of how much I was hurting can be painful, but they can also be a reminder of how far I've come. Needless to say, I cried during this video.
