Since you are experimenting I suggest you try setting some of the plants right on the ground in the high tunnel. The tunnel will act as a “mulch layer” and will be one gardening zone warmer (per Elliott Coleman). They can freeze but should not dry out. I do this with outdoor grown strawberries grown on tables. I set them on the ground and cover with straw mulch!

wow, wonderful harvest update :) I know viewers want to reach out and grab a fresh one to taste !!! You might share in the next video, the seed and brand, etc . of the seed varieties used . AND your thoughts on your families past and present experiences as farmers for ground grown, raised drip grown and why ( or not) seed selection maters to success of outcome. The bee's and high tunnel discomfort was a great share :) I ask this because . there is a fair % of the population that thinks if there is no dirt involved in a food product growth, it is less than quality for taste, texture and health value. Which you and customers happiness, completely, puts to rest . thank you as always . winter is coming up your driveway . Thanks for the smiles, education and maybe let your sister smile once on the camera . :) all the best from down south .

You are an inspiration for me as an home gardener (up north in Canada). Learn so much from you already.
I am looking for the part number of the strawberry bato buckets on saw horses you use as I want to order from CropKing (product don't show up on their site).
Thx for the time and efforts you put in all you share with us.

Mine are still going as well but I have neglected them terribly. I really need to cut them back and see if I can get them to go dormant.
once they do that for a month or so I'll crank up the heat in there and see if I can get them to go again! There is a HUGE hydro strawberry farm near Nashville that does it that way so I thought I would give it a try!
Take care my friends!
Praying for ya'll always, especially through the holidays!

WOW!! Absolutely beautiful yummy!! Strawberry shortcake and homemade strawberry jam in your future? I wonder if you had some specific pollen plants that bees love if they would attach the bees? That’s absolutely incredible!!! I’d love to watch how you will save your crowns! Also did you try any hand pollinating of any of the strawberry flowers? It’s kinda a fun thing to do with a small paint brush and you can take just a few minutes every morning while your are drinking coffee/tea just go around with a little paint brush and the flowers that the white petals are wide open are the ones and you just take the pollen dust and evenly distribute it over the berry. Then the next day of the pollinating was successful the white leave will die and fall off and it will almost look like the strawberry part is dying but it will continue to grow and produce a red strawberry. 🥰❤️🇨🇦

Always something to do, how do you keep up? Do you have a big calendar on a wall... what's the system 🤔 you can't possibly remember all you have going on.

Hello, saving the strawberry plants for next year is not going to be easy to do, and will require a lot of work, but it is an interesting experiment. if my memory is still good, you have to keep the plants in the dark in a cold room at a temperature of 3 degrees Celsius (no more, no less).

So what variety of strawberry are they? What EC and pH are you running in the system? The plants usually last 4-7 years in the field so it will be interesting to see how they turn out when stored in the cooler for next season. I purchased some with crowns this year and they are going gang busters compared to the new ones.
