I awkwardly shared the elevator with Alan as a junior employee at Amstrad and stopped it on my floor to get off delaying him. Shortly afterwards a new executive elevator was installed in the 10-storey building at huge cost. He also bought a private jet to avoid waiting in line at the airport.

It angers me so much when Lord Sugar is compared to Trump. The man literally would collect lone pieces of wood off the floor and tie them together with string then sell them in the markets with matches as home made fire starters at 13. That is how he started! The other grew up in luxury hotels, private airplanes, limos and was given $1, 000, 000 to start a business by his father. You simply cannot compare them! Lord Sugar deserves 10x the respect and more.

One of the many wide boys of his post war generation who made good. What today's generation don't know is that back then, in the UK, there was literally nothing to lose and everything to gain but only if you were a grafter. Murdoch was quite different, he came from a wealthy family and inherited a fortune. Sugar sold car aerials and cheap cassette tapes, he spotted trends and took risks which can't be taught in business schools, which is why he can spot it in others and crucially he can delegate.

A good dad like Sugar doesn't have to change nappies, they can promote family values in so many other ways and it doesn't involve throwing money at their children.
