Evans G2 Coated vs Clear Comparison Sound Test. This was recorded with a Shure Beta 98 mic. The Drum is a DW collectors series 12'' x 12'' tom.

G2 allow my drums to sing so much more. I was using Aquarian heads response 2 to be exact and I thought the sound was so dead and just choking my drums and now it’s amazing

I personally prefer the Coated one for most of the stuff I play, but the clear one sounds great too! Thanks for the comparison!

Enlightening comparison, thank you! The sound differences are so slight that drumstick choice would provide greater variety. A couple of things are certain: 1) Both heads are of excellent quality and, 2) Humans are prone to hearing differences based on visual input, among other things.

I tested the clear vs coated vs uv2. The clears sound huge in my recordings. Clear eq3 system on kick and a power center reverse for on my snare. My recordings have improved since I stopped using remo. I’ve had two emperors decouple for the collar twice in three months.

son muy similares la una diferencia que es mas notoria aparte del color en si, es que el clear mantiene un pelin mas su cola de armonicos finales un poco menos enfocados, lo que en mi caso resulta un problema por que es un poco molesto.... buen video

The clear has a specific stick sound at the initial contact that the coated does not have.

It's suck when they do these kind of reviews on a super good tom. Like my Tom will never sound like that. I need a drum head review on a cheap tom.

The clear G2 have more ring than the coated but have a little more tone and attack

It’s kinda hard to tell but that sound very similar but the clear sounds like it has a tiny bit less resonance
