As a Star Wars canon junkie, I really enjoyed this book because it felt like a breath of fresh air. This book takes place a few months after TFA and TLJ so having a light and happy book take place right after those two films is a nice cooldown.

I much prefer EK Johnston's writing, specifically "Queen's Shadow" and "Ahsoka", as well as Rae Carson's "Most Wanted". Those are YA novels but it didn't matter and I never noticed because they are good books period. Not really enthralled by this one. Also, I tried but couldn't like Claudia Grey's "Lost Stars"...but I am cautiously looking forward to reading "Master And Apprentice"...

We don’t need more Star Wars romance. It’s a safe harbor from all of that. So much other media focuses so much on this and way soo much value is put on relationship centric stories. What about single people? It nice to get a break from all the love pumping. But doesn’t ignore romance altogether and allows for things to blossom in different ways. Also to focus on different types of love like agape

I was really looking forward to this book as a romance on Batuu, but it doesn't look like it's anything I was hoping it would be. I'll still read it, but I don't think I'll be buying it. I'll just wait until my library gets it! Excited for your podcast episode about it!

C+, oof. I actually saw this on my Amazon recommendation and had it on my wishlist. The story seems nice at least.
