The Future of D2 PVP - What We Know Right Now

With many journalists like Paul Tassi and Jason Schreier weighing in with their inside sources, we now know a lot more about Bungie, the future of Destiny 2, and the cancellation of many side projects and IP's as well as the loss of key leadership devs. Here's what that means for PVP and Trials of Osiris.

For whatever reason leadership at Bungie seems to believe we'll all jump over to Marathon and they'll just need to make sure we stick around in D2 until then. Idk why they'd think that. Nobody I talked to is excited about a hero extraction shooter of all things or has any interest in playing it.

When PVP didn’t get attention for the last 3-4 years they were stealing money and resources away from Destiny 2 to do unwarranted BS. MARATHON should be shelved a new Tarkov like game will fail. Focus on Destiny 2 alone and get rid of Parsons.

They have had so many PvP maps that we’ve already paid for. Simply bring those back so there’s more map rotation and variety

Apparently the choice to cut PVP development and make the other games and provide aid to Concord. Apparently they were all made independently, so if Marathon and gummie bears and mater and this other project now with it own Sony made team didn't happen Destiny would still have a neutered PVP scene. For some reason the higher ups a Bungie just didn't think PVP was important to Destiny's future and that it wouldn't even be a problem as Marathon(which was supposed to be out by now) was in their mind gonna adsorb all the PVP players any ways.

Destiny is not going anywhere. Sony did not buy Bungie to let the cash cow die. Sony even said Destiny is lightning in a bottle. This is like Activision being purchased by Sony and Sony letting Call of duty die. Not going to happen

PvP matchmaking is win a game, bungie intentionally cause you to lose a game. Check your elos after each game and look at the matchmaking. That’s why most games end in slaughter rule. It’s terrible

Pete WILL rush the launch of marathon with the promises to fix it later. From the Tarkov content creator playtest to the Apex creator playtest Marathon hasn't been doing good for a year now in its Alpha build.

As pvp is concerned, when it comes to content, we should only expect new weapons from comp and trials.
Balance needs to be the the key point that they look at.
Balance issues need to be looked at.
No one class should be such an outlier that other classes can't compete. Warlocks being under used was never addressed. And it's because they're neutral game, and supers aren't on par with hunters and titans.

At this point, I am not surprised at anything Bungie does. As for Destiny 2 pvp I don't care what Bungie does with it. I have moved on to Xdefiant & I am loving it! Now the only pvp mode I like from Destiny 2 is Hardware pvp with no abilities. I will play that from time to time. But if Bungie takes it away I don't care!

Honestly, just expand on Into The Light’s Onslaught game mode. It’s so much fun, the most part of the community liked it too.

Also one of the things about those maps if you notice, Gambler's Ruin and Eventide Labs are pretty much the same map, just one has ice all over the place... Feels like a reskin to me, might be how they got out so fast.

Bungie is going to want the Destiny pvp community to move over to Marathon. So they will let Destiny pvp wither and die.
