Lyrics:

Do you ever get scared
Do you ever get sad
Did you forget the childhood dreams that you had
Hoped it’d be better but things turned out bad and all went wrong

You don’t have to climb mountains or walk on the moon
To fill up your heart like a great big balloon
If you can't sleep at night just remember this tune
and sing along

Dream on
Dream on
Even when you’re afraid all your dreams may be gone
Just dream on
Dream on
When the world says you’re crazy just tell them they’re wrong and dream on

When I was younger I played make believe
Now when I close my eyes I just fall asleep
If you live long enough life will make you believe that they're gone

Dream on
Dream on
Even when you’re afraid all your dreams may be gone
Just dream on
Dream on
When the world says you’re crazy just tell them they’re wrong and dream on

Dream on
Dream on
To infinity and far beyond
Maybe they’ll take you fabulous places
Maybe you’ll wake up right where you belong

Dream on
Dream on
Even when you’re afraid all your dreams may be gone
Just dream on
Dream on
When the world says you’re crazy just tell them they’re wrong
When the world says you’re crazy just tell them they’re wrong and dream on

Hi Ben! Please come to the Chicago area. This is my special song! I have cancer for the third time. I can't afford your concert in Tinley Park. My husband has back problems, too. I really just want to see you and Fuzzy Guy! Give him a hug for me!

I remember when this song first came out, I was in such a dark place. Hearing Ben singing "dream on" inspired me to think that the future may still hold some good for me. It was the first time in a long time that someone encouraged me to look forward to the future instead of dread it. Thanks, Ben.

Hey Ben, You probably won't see this but if you are...yay! I am in 10th grade and I love your music. A lot of your songs have helped me and a lot of my friends to get through a lot of things. I found you through the song Sailboat, still a current favorite. Your songs are currently helping me through getting over a friend who stabbed me in the back. Thank you Ben for creating relatable music with real emotion. One song that gives me the most hope is It would be you- acoustic version. I found it when doing my math homework. As of right now I want that to be my wedding song because it is 1 of 3 songs that have made me cry. Again thank you for your amazing work. Your music has changed my life more then I ever could have imagined. One of my goals next year is to see you in concert. That would be my greatest dream come true. If you are allowed to say this....when are you coming to utah on tour??

Hey Ben, if you are reading this, you need to talk to your agent to get this song performed on Sesame Street! What a wonderful way to inspire millions of children!

I saw Jason Brown skating to your song Dream On. Your song is wonderful and GOD inspired. I hope they show it this Saturday 1/15 when NBC broadcasts the Exhibition. It's timely, we need a song like this at a time like this and who better to skate to it then the wonderful Jason Brown. Thank you, Ben. GOD will bless you richly.

I discovered Ben Rector because of Walker Borroughs who performed the song 'Love Like This', I remembered almost a month it was my LSS now I listened to other songs of Ben Rector which I really appreciate and love a lot.

Just heard this song on Kelly and Ryan this morning. Balm to my shredded, burned, bent dreams in ways you can only guess. The last 5 yrs have been beyond hard, physically, emotionally, financially, socially, artistically... This year is an uphill climb against all the "reasons" I am done in at 65, an age you can't fathom today but will whack you in the face sooner than you can imagine. Thank you for this song and you will love it even more when you hit 65.

My daughters (9 and 7) and I (43) are loving the Joy you have given us over this excellent album! They're discovering the lost art of music videos and loving yours. Thanks Ben for providing music that is bonding father's and daughters together. Living our best lives! God bless you!

I'm here after I saw Jason skating to this music and now I'm crying again... but only happy tears. The lyrics works perfectly with Jason's story and I can't stop listening again and again. Beautiful song. Thank you.

Hey Ben! This song was introduced to me by a very close friend of mine. I do listen to this each time I feel like I'm doubting myself. I'll edit my comment after 4yrs once I became what I'm praying for. May everyone who listens to this song be always motivated in reaching their dreams🤍

I love the subtle way Ben speaks to expectations, portraying them not as challenges but the paramount of our potential.

I saw this on Kelly and Ryan this morning as well. In a very roundabout way it reminds me of an old song of my youth called "Hey Jimmy Joe John Jim Jack". A must hear if you've never heard this song.... Such similar messages from days gone by. My soul loves this I've sent it out to both of my adult children this morning because I want them to always hold fast to their dreams. I'm a musical performing artist and I'm 62. I still dream 😊
